Agronomy is the application of plant and soil science to crop production and includes the study of plant breeding, genetics, biotechnology, molecular biology, physiology, biochemistry, weed control, and crop management.

There are graduate certificates available as well, including grassland management; floriculture and nursery production management; ornamentals, landscape, and turf; advanced horticulture; and plant breeding and genetics.
