Springer is one of the largest publishers of scholarly journals in the world. The UNL Libraries will no longer subscribe en masse to Springer journals. We are making this change based on organizational values, including those articulated in our strategic Framework, "A Nebraska Model for Public Research Libraries," coupled with changed information landscapes. This change also creates opportunity for the Libraries to redirect our finite spending to other areas of need and impact. We've implemented a rapid delivery service for access to Springer 2025+ journal articles for all faculty, students, and staff. This service is separate from Interlibrary Loan services. This service provides almost immediate access and email delivery of articles from eligible journal content and can be requested directly from the Library Catalog. Each PDF requested through Article Galaxy Scholar will be paid for by the Libraries at an average cost of $25 per article. When you search for an article you will see Article Galaxy Scholar listed in the options if it is available. For more information on how to use this tool and other full-text article access tools visit our Article Galaxy Scholar guide.
