Genealogy Resources - Introduction

The aim of this LibGuide is to show how the use of academic materials can lead to the creation of a family history. The University Libraries have only one strictly genealogical online resource, MyHeritage, therefore the focus of this guide is family history rather than genealogy. Our online, print, map and archives can help in that research. Those doing research on Nebraska people should also consult the Nebraska State Historical Society library

New Resource

Nebraska Homestead Records

UNL now has access to Nebraska Homestead Records on the Fold3 platform, a collection of digitized homestead land entry case files for the state of Nebraska from the General Land Office, covering the period 1863-1908.

New Resource

New primary resources have been added through the AM (Adam Matthew) platform. They are too numerous to list below, but sample titles include Migration to New Worlds, Frontier Life: Borderlands, Settlements & Colonial Encounters, Life at Sea, World War II Service Newspapers and more! I will be adding the databases to the appropriate sections of this Libguide. For now, to review the entire list of new databases, click on the link below.
