Family History and Genealogy: Home

Genealogy Resources - Introduction

The aim of this LibGuide is to show how the use of academic materials can lead to the creation of a family history. The University Libraries have only one strictly genealogical online resource, MyHeritage, therefore the focus of this guide is family history rather than genealogy. Our online, print, map and archives can help in that research. Those doing research on Nebraska people should also consult the Nebraska State Historical Society library

New Resource

Nebraska Homestead Records

UNL now has access to Nebraska Homestead Records on the Fold3 platform, a collection of digitized homestead land entry case files for the state of Nebraska from the General Land Office, covering the period 1863-1908.
