University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Department of Entomology

Entomology is the study of insects. The faculty, staff, and students of University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Department of Entomology study a wide range of topics, including: field crop, horticultural, urban, and veterinary entomology; biological control and insect pest management; insect ecology, genetics, and systematics; insecticide/environmental toxicology; plant-insect interactions and plant resistance to insects; and forensic science.

Undergraduate programs

The Department offers two undergraduate programs (see Information for Current and Prospective Students): the Insect Science major, and the Applied Science major.

Graduate programs

The Department offers programs leading to the Masters and the Ph.D. degrees, including a distance Masters program.
