DESCRIPTION

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries Virtual Learning Program is a multifaceted approach to integrating online information literacy instruction within the curricula of all university programs. The program incorporates a variety of digital tools and resources in the development of critical information literacy skills among students and is aligned with the ACRL's Standards for Distance Learning Library ServiceFramework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, and all other appropriate professional standards and principles. 

GOALS

  • Provide a searchable inventory of online instructional tools and resources for both library and teaching faculty
  • Create and implement online learning modules and critical thinking experiences within all academic curricula
  • Provide a digital badging system to give students verifiable proof of their information literacy skills
  • Provide training and support for all library instruction incorporated into blended and online learning environments
