Architecture and Interior Design: Finding Images

Finding and using resources in Architecture and Interior Design

Finding Images via the University of Nebraska-Lincoln catalog

Image collections hosted by the University Libraries are contained in our Image & Multimedia Collections site. There are many collections containing digital architectural images, from historical monuments to modern structures. The most efficient way to find images is by doing a keyword search within the Image and Multimedia site, listed on the left side of the Encore/Quick Search page.  It is also possible to do a keyword search in Encore and limit by Visual Material.

Using ARTstor

ARTstor, a database of more than one million images, is produced by a non-profit organization of the same name and is funded by the Mellon Foundation. Its mission and a brief history are available on its website.

Geared toward the visual arts, ARTstor also has images from across the humanities, social sciences, and the sciences. Disciplines with the most extensive coverage include art, architecture, landscape architecture, design, anthropology, history, area studies, music, religion, American Studies, Classics, Medieval Studies, and Renaissance Studies.

One can browse and search for images, save images to groups, and present images.
