ALMA Item Level Notes: Home

This guideincludes a breakdown of the usage of item notes coming from Sierra to Alma. It includes a break down of notes that we plan to retain, their new language, and the specific field they would be moved to as well as a listing of all the note styles

Overview

This Libguide includes a breakdown of the usage of item notes coming from Sierra to Alma.  As part of the transition to the new system the usage of item notes needed to be reviewed and revised.  Many of the notes that had been in use with Sierra have been replaced with other functions in Alma and many of the old notes are related to retired processes or projects and need to be cleared out.  The following Excel sheets have two purposes.  One, the "Keep" tab had a breakdown of notes that we plan to retain, their new language, and the specific field they would be moved to.  Second, the "Discard" tab has a listing of all the note styles that are proposed to be discontinued.  Many of these are taken care of in different ways by Alma so they can be retired or relocated.
