Platform Updates

November 2022 (updated): Visual History Archive will migrate to a new interface in early November. Until then, the new interface can be previewed on a beta site. More information about the interface redesign is available on ProQuest's support site

9 September 2022: Checkpoint is scheduled to migrate to a new authentication system on Friday, September 9. Previously registered users will receive an email notification prompting them to supply their name and UNL email address. The email address provided in this step will be used for logging into Checkpoint and for receiving password reset links once the migration is completed. The current registration link should continue to be used for creation of new accounts. Further information is available in this FAQ document

8 September 2022: UNL users can now access O'Reilly Online Learning using their UNL login credentials, at https://go.oreilly.com/unl-edu. Each individual user will have a personal account; all accounts display the generic user name “University of Nebraska Lincoln Learner”.

Users who have saved information (for example, playlists) under their previous email-based account can still access these by entering their email address on the login page, then choosing the “Sign in with password” option. If you desire assistance from O’Reilly support in transferring a playlist from your old account to the new one, please contact eresources@unl.edu

Links in the library catalog and A-Z Databases list will be updated to use this simplified authentication method on September 10, 2022.

8 September 2022: ICPSR has discontinued support for remote (off-campus) registration of new user accounts on the basis of email addresses. There are now three options for creating new ICPSR accounts:

  1. Register on the ICPSR site from a computer on campus.

  1. Register on the ICPSR site from an off-campus computer, then email icpsr-help@umich.edu from a UNL email address to request validation. This option is only available during business hours (Eastern Time zone).

  1. Register from an off-campus computer using this link (proxied), then use this link (unproxied) to access the ICPSR site and log in. The ICPSR website does not support access via proxy servers, except for account creation.

Past:

13 September 2022: African American Periodicals (Readex) will migrate to an upgraded interface. All existing links will automatically redirect to the new interface.
