Agricultural Economics: Home

AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS

Agricultural Economics studies agriculture and natural resources as they relate to the economy.  Agricultural Economics observes, monitors, predicts, and explains market changes and trends.  The focus is on those things that can impact the agricultural economy including commodity prices and futures markets, imports and exports, weather cycles, buying patterns; those things that impact agriculture production from the beginning to the end product.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has had a specific department devoted to the study of the economics of agriculture and natural resources for nearly 100 years. This guide brings together various print and electronic resources into one location for convenience. While it covers several areas, it should not be considered comprehensive in that there are always new resources being developed and a variety of related subjects that go beyond the scope of this guide. If you know of additional resources you feel should be included, please send me your suggested additions and corrections for this guide or ideas for new subject guides.
