Newspapers

Library databases that contain news and news information

News Wires, Transcripts & Newsreels

The UNL Libraries has several databases that focus on other types of news sources, including broadcast transcripts, newswire stories, and historical newsreels.

Higher Education

Chronicle of Higher Education

The University Libraries have purchased a site license to the online version of the Chronicle of Higher Education and its archives from 1989 to the present.

UNL faculty, administrators, students, and staff can access articles through the Chronicle.com website by creating a free account using their unl.edu email address. Once on the Chronicle’s website, click on the Log In link at the upper right corner and follow the process to a free account. The free account grants you complete access to the Chronicle from anywhere in the world.

Campus Newspapers

In addition to the Daily Nebraskan, you can find articles from other campus newspapers.  Although you can simply go to a particular university's student newspaper site and search and read articles there, the library has two databases that allow you to search for college newspaper articles across multiple publications and across time.
