Designing for Bite-Sized Library Instruction

What is instructional Design and how is it applicable to our instruction?
This session will discuss using backward design principles to help design a “one-shot” instructional session that focuses on student engagement and assessing efficacy.
 
In this session participants will: 
  •  identify elements of backward design.
  •  scope learning for a typical “one-shot” instructional session.
  • discuss assessments for determining efficacy of the “one-shot” instructional session.

Peer Review & Self-Reflection

This session will help participants  understand the value of peer review and self-reflection.
In the session participants will:
  • discuss the peer review process, the expectations of the reviewee and the role of the reviewer.
  •  discuss the value of the peer review and its impact on teaching and library practice.
  • Discuss the many ways peer review is captured for Promotion and Tenure in libraries.
