Diversity Libguide

Resources for studying diversity topics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Why study gender?

Throughout history, women have generally not had as many rights as men. Even today, women have not achieved full equality in areas such as wages and personal safety. People who don't fit into society's strict gender norms, such as transgender and gender-nonconforming people, are also often discriminated against. Gender studies is a field with many potential areas of inquiry.

Please visit the "LGBTQIA resources" page of this guide for resources specific to transgender identities.
