The University of Nebraska - Lincoln Libraries are a Congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government documents. Public access to Government documents is guaranteed by public law (Title 44 U.S.C.).
University of Nebraska-Lincoln serves as the Regional Depository that supports the federal depository network in Nebraska. There are currently twelve library in the State of Nebraska providing access to Government Information.
The Midwest National Collection Service Area (NCSA) is one of four areas in the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) that was established to ensure geographically dispersed permanent public access to Federal Government information products, to receive services from the Government Publishing Office, and to facilitate collaboration between and among Federal depository libraries.
Regional discards and regional online selections are also determined by NCSA region. The map below comprises the states of the Midwest Region.

Preservation Stewards make a commitment to retain specified tangible depository resources for the length of the partnership agreement. They also take on the additional responsibilities for preserving that material. This includes both preventive maintenance and conservation treatments.
Nebraska currently has no Preservation Stewardship agreements in place.
