UNL authors whose articles are accepted on or after January 1, 2021 for publication in most Cambridge University Press journals (see a downloadable list of participating journals) can choose to publish their work Open Access (OA) at no cost to themselves. The associated charges (known as Article Processing Charges, or APCs) are covered by the Libraries. Eligible article types include research articles, rapid communications, review articles, brief reports, and case reports with a UNL-affiliated corresponding author.
Authors should specify their UNL email address and/or ORCID identifier when submitting their articles, to ensure that the publisher’s editorial management system identifies them correctly as eligible for the OA publication charge waiver. In the case of "hybrid" journals offering both OA and non-OA publication options, authors will be presented with the choice of publishing OA or not.
For information about the agreement, and a description of the steps involved for authors, see the Cambridge University Press information page for the Read and Publish agreement with the Big Ten Academic Alliance.
