What is Web of Science? Web of Science is part of Thomson Reuters' Web of Knowledge. Web of Science contains 5 databases:
Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) --1899-present
Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) --1898-present
Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI) --1975-present
Book Citation Index– Science (BKCI-S) --2005-present
Book Citation Index– Social Sciences & Humanities (BKCI-SSH) --2005-present
In addition, you can select the tab "Select a Database" and search Medline or Journal Citation Reports (This is where you would look for information on impact factors).
From on campus, follow the following link to create a Web of Knowledge account: https://webofknowledge.com
1) Select Sign In near the top right of the page
2) Select Register from the dropdown menu
3) Enter your University of Nebraska-Lincoln email address
4) Write down the username and password which you select in a safe place.
