The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Geography Library offers a GIS tutorial workbook and access to online GIS training for ESRI software for students, faculty and staff

NebraskaMAP is the public's access to geospatial data in Nebraska. - It provides public and private access to peer-reviewed Nebraska Spatial Data Infrastructure (NESDI) and other statewide geodata, maps, and GIS web services for Nebraska. It is based on the premise of "Build it once, Share it many."

This geoportal connects users to digital geospatial resources, including GIS datasets, web services, and digitized historical maps from repositories located in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Library of Congress Geography and Map Division – has a large collection of online maps – both historical and current.

Atlas of North America – includes Mexico and Canada. The atlas has map making capabilities in which the user can choose different thematic layers, such as climate, roads, geology, demographics, etc.

National Map – Produces by the USGS and includes current and electronic data from their topographic maps.

USGS digital electronic topographic maps. Includes an orthoimage base, roads, geographic names, contours, and hydrographic features.

Historical, legacy topographic maps published by the USGS since the inception of the topographic mapping program in 1884.
